Office of Globalization
The Office of Globalization was established to advance the strategic objective of increasing the international visibility, reach and impact of USC's research, scholarship, art, education and service programs - thereby securing USC's place as a truly global university in a city that USC President Steven B. Sample has called the Capital of the Pacific Rim. The office works with the all of the university's schools to support and strengthen their efforts to create international academic and research partnerships as well as opportunities for students to learn outside of the United States.
Located in the Office of the Provost, the Office of Globalization also supervises a network of international offices created to support the university's academic mission by advancing research and other partnerships, recruiting international students, and developing opportunities for USC students to study, conduct research, work in internships and engage in service-based learning abroad.
In addition, the USC Office of Globalization administers:
- The USC Provost's Distinguished Visitor Program, which brings prominent international visitors to USC; and
- USC's relations with the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, of which President Sample was founding chairman.
Finally, the Office of Globalization coordinates visits to USC's campuses by distinguished representatives from foreign universities, governments and corporations.
